CeleBrampton - Brampton Flower City Parade

Celebrating Brampton Flower City

What an incredible find, pictures I took from the Flower Parade back in 2016. Brampton Bits & Bites had just been born, and this event would be one of the early events that we did. CeleBrampton used to take place the Saturday before the Downtown Brampton Farmer's Market Began. It was to celebrate our nickname sake "Flower City". Plus all the various organizations, sports clubs, charitable groups, local businesses that make the City of Brampton a great place to live in.

Party In the Lanes - Saturday

Goals Goods & Grooves

Dispite the Stormy weather of thunderstorms, rain, and a threat of a tornado. Add to that and the air quality. The Show still went on. Most of the stuff was inside, except for the Parade of Nations & the Fire-Eater Show.

More to come including Sunday's Party In the Lanes so stay tuned.

These two lovely ladies got City Hall Jumping as they Salsa their way to the atrium.

Grooving to the up beat tunes, and what would Party In the Lanes be without some great Latino music.

A Popular Feature

World Cup Watch Party at Garden Square - Canada vs Qatar

History Was Made At Garden Square Thursday.

The Watch Party at Garden Square on Thursday evening were witnessed to Canadian Sports history as our Canadian Mens soccer team trounced the defending Qatar 6-0. Thus, Canada won their first World Cup game ever, and in doing so, could quite possibly move on to the next round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup of Soccer.

That would be quite the feat, as for many years Canada was more or less just a spectator. thanks to better facilities such as the Brampton Soccer Centre, better coaching, we are now taking our place in the world at the higher stage. 6 members of our men's national soccer team are from Brampton.

Canadian Pride was surely felt at Garden Square in Brampton, from the playing of the National Anthem to cheering on our men's team throughout the game, waving flags and shouting out "CANADA CANADA"

It was the place to be in Brampton on Thursday, I was proud to be a Canadian that night.  It was a pleasure running into members of the Brampton Soccer Club and the U9 Competitive Team, in attendance to cheer on our Canadian team. We wish the team much success for their season. (picture above with Councillor Rod Power)

Here is wishing our Canadian boys good luck and all the best as they go forward into the tournament.

Celebrating Filipino Heritage Month - Flag Raising & Reception

To celebrate the Philippines independance, Brampton held a Flag Raising and reception at Brampton City Hall last Sunday, June 14. Dispite the rain the Flag was raised along with an impromptu singing of the Philippines National Anthem. Back insidewhere it was much dryer, was where the speeches were made and the wonderful entertainment (as always) took place. the food, which was deleicious was served in the Conservatory. I managed to avoid the Halo Halo, although it was tempting but for the sake of my health, I had to decline. It is very good.

Very Colourful Celebration

As our first week of the Downtown Brampton Farmer's Market was winding down from a successful opening, at Brampton City Hall,  a flag raising took place to Celebrate Italian Heritage Month this past Saturday. Carmen Spada (World of Jazz Festival) precided as emcee and did a fantastic job as usual. Many dignitaries were on hand including Council members, Mayor Patrick Brown, MPP Graham McGregor.

After the flag raising, a reception was held directly outside just off the flag pole near George St. Food & entertainment was provided. Food provided by Torinos Brampton, and the entertainment was provided by Carmen, as always, with his wandering accordian who provided great Italian music while people waited in line to be served.

Annual Cleanup

A beautiful rich Sunday morning of sunshine and warmer temperatures. A huge difference between this week compared with the previous week.

Last Sunday at Teramoto Park, it was a bitter taste of Winter still lingering around Southern Ontario. Gee last week it was even ❄️❄️❄️❄️ snowing.

This Sunday was reasonably more comfortable and quite pleasant. Cleanup Kerbil Park to make it more pleasant for families and individuals to enjoy the beautiful park. Their was a group playing Cricket while we were doing the cleanup.

Our efforts were concentrated around the lake and creek. We had to watch out for the nasty burrs, and there are notorious ticks to certainly watch out for

Overall terrific 👍 👍 morning and a tremendous success.

Brampton Sports Day February

As the 2026 Winter Olympics draws to a close, Brampton Sports Day, brings a little bit of Olympic feel to The Save/Max Sports Centre. A variety of different sports to satisfy the competitive palatte.

Sport Organizations from Brampton gathered at the Save/Max Sports Centre To display and promote their sport to hopefully to entice new registrations.  Sports include lacrosse, Cricket, Baseball, Girls Softball, Football, Pickleball, Volleyball, Soccer, Track & Field, and Field Hockey.

What a terrific opportunity for parents to expose their child to  a variety of different sports, give their son and daughter a chance to try the sport to see if they would greatly enjoy playing the sport and to sign up for the sport. And who knows, a potential Olympic athlete in the making.
